I read from Atmosphere releases page that the latest firmware revision gives 10mb less sysmodule ram compared to previous revision. I have some questions about it.

How significant is 10mb decrease? How much sysmodule ram was there initially?

Up to how many sysmodules can I run in latest firmware revision?

16MB

but question is not "how many sysmodules can I run ?" but "how many sysmodules do I really need for my own use ?"

Firmwares 20.x/21.x are perfectly fine with sysmodules. But I suppose that if you abuse its number, atmosphere will not be happy about  (but again, do you really need all the sysmodules available on Switch ?)

games patches are more problematic (TOTK with its 100K+ files for example)
and worst thing about 21.x is that it breaks all homebrews, which need to be recompiled (or patched) with libNX 4.10.0

ps : one day or another, you will have to be on firmware 21.x.x, if you want to play new games and/or update old ones.
IMHO it's mucher better to try to use this firmware (with its limits), rather than trying to downgrade.

I don't use a lot of custom modules or mods myself. For me the most important thing is that I can use cheats (via Breeze) and occasionally use emuiibo to emulate Amiibo input, which I did via Tesla Overlay. This is still viable?

As for mods, I've only ever used some small mods like an offline quest unlocker mod for Monster Hunter Rise or a mod that replaced one of Hades' lua scripts to make fishing spots spawn more often. I would assume small mods like these should still be possible.

Do we know for what purposes the memory pool got limited?
