ROM Hack About the Patch for Phantasy Star Zero

I have a r4i gold 3DS version (http://www.r4ids.cn/) flash cart with the latest goblin wood fw 1.44. I have bahumat's rom of the game. Do i need to apply the bahumat patch to play the game offline/online or does the Gobling Wood fw already have that fix? What is the point of the bahumat patch to bahumat's rom of this game?

Wood R4 already fixes the game. You can play it either offline or online.

The point of the patch, by Bahamut, to fix the Bahamut release of the ROM is to fix the anti-piracy measures enacted within the game. However, I don't know what these anti-piracy measures are.

The anti-piracy measures, as far as I remember, made it so you'd get only crappy drops. Phantasy Star 0 Xenophobia release fixed this, if I remember correctly. After playing for a while, when I switched to the proper version, I definitely noticed the difference, i'd get much more rare and overall good item drops. So I'd say try to find and use the Xenophobia release instead of Bahamut's.

Wood R4 already fixes the game. You can play it either offline or online.

Wait, i'm confused. I thought that Xenophobia rom had an issue so they patched it. Then Bahamut's rom was just the same as a Xenophobia patched rom. The Bahamut's patch was used to fix the online. Basically, Xenophobia's a nuke while Bahamut's is proper. Do I still need the Bahamut's patch rom to play/be seen online.

Xenophobia's is not a nuke. That's the release I used when I first downloaded the game myself.

You do not need the patch to play the game online. Besides, if you patch a game to fix AP when the game's AP is fixed by Wood, the game won't run anyway (which is what I think they meant when they said patched ROMs don't work in Wood R4, since ROM hack and fan translation patched ROMs still work).

Um, yeah, Xenophobia's verions is Nuked, which is why they Bahamut released a proper version. Anyway, I have a bahumat version with the bahamut patch (the one that fix the online issue) and I can play it on my Wood fw just fine. Question is, do I need it? Will other players online still be able to see me?
