a demo unit is a demo unit. You can't change that. You can't use regular custom firmware, nor original firmware, on this kind of Switch, without some firmware patch to make it like a retail one.


exFAt is bad because of data corruption. You can browse a lot (thousand) of threads about it.
Switch supports natively FAT32 (exFAT driver must be downloaded), this is the best way to use a microSD card

Except for a few exceptions, like big data patch to mod some games (I remember one specific game where the patch was bigger than 4GB), exFAT is useless and will slowly corrupt data.

Hey guys. I got a kiosk switch. I connected it to the internet and wanted to keep it as a kiosk unit. When i try to update the applications its just saying:" Check system updated allowed " and after that it entered sleep mode. Does anyone know how to update it or what the problem is? Thanks

You might have to resort to homebrew for a manual update. (Does a kiosk-unit out of Nintendos' reach (i.e. not at the place/company it should be) even have access to application updates? I'd imagine once N gets wind of a unit that has been resold they would revoke access.)

I got some updates a few weeks ago with mario wonder. But now its just stuck there. When there is a new release of the Kiosk atmosphere patch, i will try to update it manually. Hopefully it works.

You can keep trying updating through regular means in the meantime ofcourse, maybe there just isn't an update available for your kiosk unit right now? (Just speculating, thinking of reasons why updating could fail)

I will wait for a new atmosphere patch for kiosk units and try again after that. Hope that will work

Updated for 1.5.0 pre1.
Moved shit back to exosphere for simplicity.
Remove sd:/atmosphere/kips/ams_mitm.kip1 and put exosphere.bin at sd:/atmosphere/exosphere.bin, use stock Atmosphere v1.5.0 otherwise.
If using hekate to boot add 'secmon=atmosphere/exosphere.bin' to your config.

This binary is only compatible with Atmosphere v1.5.0, don't use it on any other versions otherwise you may crash/hang/whatever on boot.

Edit: Nintendos 19.0.0 update broke my kiosk updates, 19.0.1 updates are back and working normally.

Heh. If you ever want to turn it back into a kiosk unit, let me know, I’ve got copies of a bunch of the kiosk stuff with common tickets that can be installed and ran without sigpatches

I’ve got a link that I’m occasionally updating with new builds that have the change, if you want I DM you the link.
As for building AMS yourself, were you using libnx master? AMS almost always depends on changes that aren’t yet in a libnx release. Or building may have just been completely broken at the time (it’s definitely not an uncommon occurrence lol).

Just a question. Could u maybe compile a normal amtosphere version to run the kiosk fusee on a cfw console? i saw something like that but its for v13.2.1 which is pretty old
