Hey

So basically I would like to know if there has been any talk about porting some MKWorld tracks to MK8D (in the form of CTGP tracks or just fanmade) for tracks like: Rainbow Road, Toads Factory... etc...

Yeah, It probably would be hard to remake the tracks (even worse as CFW isn't on the Switch 2 yet) and would also be hard to make it look really good and work well with a restricted vertex count for the render...

I also have no clue how to construct the tracks and code and all of that, which is why I am asking if annyone else is thinking or making ports for those tracks. i feel like those tracks would actually work very well with mario kart 8 Deluxe... as some were expecting more from the booster course track, and some of those tracks can be overwritten (well, by the Atmosphére contents folder getting write priority)

Note: This is also an idea for more additions to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in further custom mod versions.

I think it's possible but someone needs to put a lot of time into it. Also MKW tracks are much larger cause of the 24p count, don't know how well it would play with the Mk8 limit.

yes, very true actually... as the tracks are wider (well, besides rainbow road, its actually more normal than others) the textures could be downscaled slightly to help with framerates, keep the 12p count, it won't be as chaotic... the music will work pretty well, as I have changed the music for Wii Rainbow Road from the remix on MKWorld by just tweaking the bitrate in Audacity and the loop from a .wav into .bfstm... but yeah, the tracks can be made in blender as far as I know, and there are a very lot of skilled people at 3D modelling, but yeah it WOULD take a fair amount of time, but the custom tracks that people have made look and run better than some of the official nintendo tracks, so the community seems good at track creating.
