A question about wii ports and raspberry pi

    Can wii usb ports power raspberry pi??I tried goggling but found nothing.Thanks in advance
    i don't own raspberry pi but im thinking to get one

    You could try ...I don't see any damage being made if it doesn't.

    It probably gives 5v per port

    My worry is that using my wii to power my raspberry pi might burn it

    It shouldn't hurt anything, USB is designed so that you can't fry things (except for the good old USB-A to USB-A trick on Macbooks, that was nasty). The Wii may not put out enough power, so you might need to use a Y-Cable to actually supply enough power to the Pi though.

    No, the Wii USB wont work at all. The Wii's USB only puts out < 500 milliamps, and the Pi needs a minimum of around 1800.
