Use the savegame manager that can backup HGSS. It works on BW.

The issue that makes HG/SS not work with Rudolph's tools isn"t exclusive to HG/SS, it's infrared cards in general.

It's safe. Basically, it works like NDS Backup Tools, but it can't dump your games. I did it twice with my White version (one time, I put the save in the game, and the second time I changed my C-Gear skin), and it works perfectly.
