Hardware A Few Questions about Softmodding a Wii

I recently got a Wii & I have a few questions, I Looked around before creating this Thread
I apologize if this is the wrong section for this

I'm thinking of Softmodding my Wii for Emulator Purposes.

1: I have the November 2012 Update for the Wii. Am i still able to Softmod my Wii?

2: Will i still be able to use the Wii Shop Channel if i softmod my console?

3: I have the Wii Bundle that has Wii Sports & Wii Sports Resort, So this is probably a Wii made past 2008. It's a black Wii. Will i still be able to Use BootMii to Backup the NAND?

4. I Read in a Video that WiiConnect24 needs to be off while the Softmod is being installed. Is this true?

4 no, but afaik its useless anyway since it the servers are off
