Look into ModMii's Abstinence wizard (it will allow you to homebrew while keeping your wii's virginity)

Does your wii pass the internet connection test as normal when you switched the dns over?

EDIT: Nevermind, this is my problem. GoDaddy changed the IPs of their namespace servers that this is hosted on, I'll update the OP with the new IPs.

    Read my edit above.
The new IPs are 97.74.103.14 and 173.201.71.14.
    Sorry about that.

The DNS servers seem to be fine. What exactly happens when you run the connection test?

Never mind - I realized my router had custom dns settings, once I set the router to the correct dns and had the wii on automatic it worked! :)

So I'm following the guide at wii.guide and while I get everything fine, I keep getting "Configuring network... FAIL" followed by "ERROR: if_config: -116" when it starts to try and install
I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong? I'm following everything exactly and the DNS is the same, unless it changed, and I know my internet works or it wouldn't have told me the test was successful

How are you connecting to the internet on the Wii? Wifi, USB Ethernet?
And is there anything unusual about your connection setup?
This error is from libogc saying it couldn't setup a network connection on the Wii for some reason.
However, you clearly have a working setup since you get to the EULA page just fine...

Just a standard wireless connection. Our internet requires a password but other than that, it's just normal Wi-Fi.
    WPA/WPA2-PSK, if that helps

Retry the exploit with the primary DNS server set to 68.102.188.131 and tell me what happens.
EDIT: Disregard the above steps, it seems my ISP isn't happy about me hosting service somewhere below port 443 so I can't have you test things on my machine. I have to go get a temporary server setup somewhere...

It gives me error code: 220602, unable to connect to the internet
I tried even disabling the password but that didn't work. I admit I'm not too versed on wi-fi and the different intricacies of it but I definitely know DNS from my Wiimmfi experiences

oh whoops only now saw the edit my bad

Give it another try with the DNS servers from the OP. It should no longer try to reset the DNS settings on your Wii. Let me know if that works.
EDIT: 3rd times the charm, try it one more time. An incorrect version of the payload was uploaded that would probably just cause the exploit to sit on the waiting screen forever.

Now it's back to giving me the fail when trying to configure the network... ugh...
If we can't figure out a solution it's not a biggie, I can try the other methods on the Wii guide, but I figured this one was simpler than the others so
Thanks for the help by the way

it did say that it was still resetting the DNS servers though, was that just like there but not actually resetting them?

Dang sorry, I'll have to look into what's really causing that libogc error. For now I would just use LetterBomb instead.

Why can't the Wii mini use this?
