1. Probably. Always a risk though, probably greatly reduced if you never log PSN. High if you do, or play games before street dates.
2. Yes it does. Compatibility is here and there.
3. Pretty sure all PS3's play PS1 natively. Just stick the disc in and go. If you're talking about disc images, that requires an appropriate FW.

Also if you want to play PS2 games you could consider using a Cobra hybrid firmware that makes playing PS2 games alot easier.

Yep. However if you use Cobra FW past 4.46 and use PS2ISO, you'll run into the sync bug (you'll need to run a cable between your PS3 and controller for it to work), problem doesnt exist if you use the PS2 classic methods. Wish they would fix that eventually. Sucks running a 10ft usb extension to the couch.

I'm just waiting on rebug to release their CFW that will probably fix the issue they have some pretty legit CFW's.
