How can we help test if this is safe on 6.1.0?
Dont. ;)

Full answer: By buying a bunch of screen damaged switches, devising a test setup and being very methodical doing it.

Or in short, if you have to ask - maybe don't try to help. Mainly for your own sake. ;)

Its the old "how can I contribute" - "by staying far away" conundrum. I like it quite a bit. ;)

Is it down ? I can't connect on 5.1
It's up.
@AveSatanas Just a ping to ask if you did the 6.1.0 test yet? I bought a used switch from someone who apparently updated to 6.1.0 immediately before I bought it (d'oh). Want to make sure N didn't throw new domains (or a static IP!) in the update before I connect this to wifi.
I did. It seems safe.
guys is this safe to use on 6.1.0?
Seems so. Updated op.

You should take your own advice.
Yes, but then this whole place gets swamped by people who really, really are better off being attended to individually on a discord, one two liner at a time.

What is best, is it safe, it doesnt work, I'm on SX OS, can you help me read, I need a personal shopper for me homebrew experience... That stuff.

Only downside of playing the scrapyard dog all the time - you get judged doubly harsh, when you make a mistake yourself. Which happens.

The flack the typical mil..en..ial will throw at you isnt even that bad. They usually stop after a few short lines. Typing on glass really is hard. I understand. ;)

To end on a positive note, if you dont run out and buy SX OS for 40 bucks all the time you really are learning how technology works here, so keep it up. :)

so i was running 5.0.1 that updte with the safe method from 4.0.1 without burning fuses, but today i left the console at home with my girl and even tho iv always had 90dns on, she manage to update my console therefore i asume my fuses are burnt and im stuck now at 6.1.0, i though having 90dns would protect me from sucha thing but aparently not, also im still using 90dns and im getting game updates in the background, isnt this also not possible while using 90dns?

Sounds like your ISP may be hijacking DNS, therefore blocking 90dns.

Did you run the tester?

Nope i didnt, my computer has to be on the same network as my switch to run that tester i asume?

Edit: nvm the tester is for the network not the switch, ok ill run it on my laptop i guess

Low seeing if the YouTube app would work with this

EDIT: it just stays on a black screen when opening the YouTube app with this lol

Yeah this never worked with the official YouTube app. But can confirm that it works with the latched one (I know you don't want that installed)

Hey, I can not connect via the switch either, I ran the test without any problems. Use your server since the first day but now it does not work anymore. Can connect with the router, then comes an error message that the DNS could not be resolved.

EDIT: done!

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.
