Hi all, I just ordered one of these and was wondering if anyone here has tried it already?

I have a launch model Wii with Gamecube controller ports, so this could be a good option for wireless controllers.

I have a few 8BitDo bluetooth controllers and a Dualshock 4 and Xbox controller that I plan on testing with it.

I'll post here when the receiver arrives and I've tested a few of them.

This arrived today and so far I tested it with my Xbox and 8BitDo SF30 Pro controllers. Both connected instantly and worked great in RetroArch for my CPS1, CPS2, and Neo Geo cores! They also worked perfectly for Genesis Plus GX.

I also tested it with Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Castlevania Rebirth.

Tomorrow I'll try my 8BitDo M30 Saturn controller and the arcade stick.

Very happy with this device so far :)

I have been testing the 8BitDo Retro Receiver the last couple of days with various controllers. They all work great with Wii games that support the GC controller, various emulators etc., but there are issues with Nintendont. The analog stick is all over the place. I tried with my Xbox controller and my 8BitDo SF30 Pro, same issue. The receiver should have the latest firmware, but I'll connect it to my laptop and update it anyway just in case.

EDIT

An update on my issues with the 8BitDo Retro Receiver for Gamecube - I resolved the issue. First I updated Nintendont to the latest version from github, but I was still experiencing the same issue. I then connected the retro receiver to my pc and used the 8BitDo Ultimate Software to update the firmware to the latest version. Happy to say it is now working correctly!

Tested on launch model Wii with Xbox and SF30 Pro bluetooth controllers.

Interesting little gadget. would be useful for people with lots of extra controllers. how much does it cost? have you tested it with other wii homebrew like NewoZero?

It's about €20 on Amazon. I don't know what NewoZero is but if it supports the Gamecube controller then it should work.

NewoZero is a free homebrew racing game I made that you can download from the homebrew browser or open shop channel. You can find it if you scroll down the games list.

Most of my games support the GameCube controller so it should work with both analog sticks as well as the dpad.
