Hacking 512kb Card1 save not working

I'll try it once more. What file name did you use for the save file? AMKP.sav or 0004000000030700.sav?

Classic mode won't let you boot ROMs though. Retail carts load fine in sysNAND and Classic mode.

not sure if you saw my edit but are you using the gateway backup or the save file editor?

I'm using the Gateway launcher's save dumper. Haven't heard of SaveFileEditor. Do you mean SaveDataFiler?

oops im tired, but yes aha. install that as a .cia and put your modified save into a folder called "filer" on the root and then set the rom on your home menu. then go to savedatafiler on the home menu and scroll the the screen on the right and select your save and see if that installation method works.

edit: actually this might not work, i havent slept in awhile but you can try this anyways because its a useful item to have.

Tried again with Mario Kart 7, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Harvest Moon.
Nothing. Maybe I'll try dumping the save files with SaveDataFiler.

SaveDataFiler only works on Card2 games though, and this is Card1. I suppose I can try convert the ROM to Card2 and try it. That'll be a job for tomorrow, I've gotta get some sleep .

I was just copying the save files to my microSD card instead of the SD one that goes in the 3DS...
Wow. I knew I was dumb, but not that dumb.
All three save files worked. Hooray.

Are you using a Mt card, gateway saves go on the big Sd, Mt saves go on the micro SD

EDIT: nvm I misread, yeah gateway saves stay on the big SD
