Gaming 5.50 Prometheus worth it?

Keep in mind that D3 and Prometheus will make some games (like Persona 1) no longer work with the M33 driver so you will have to use NP9660

5.50 Prometheus is D3 with the Prometheus module built-in.
So you get all the features of D3 plus built-in Prometheus patching.

Prometheus allows you to run 6.20 games without manual patching, has nothing to do with older games.

Uh, no. You can't run SOME older games on 5.03 GEN-C or 5.50 GEN-D3 unless you change some settings in the recovery menu. Since Prometheus just lets you play 6.20 games without patching, the problem is still there.

Uh, no. The 5.03 Promtheus breaks compatibility with older games like Tekken 6 etc, nothing to do with recovery settings. The developer even said this himself so i'm pretty sure he isn't wrong.

Depending on where you get your GEN-D3 Installer, you may get the save corruption bug. You see, I guess the cfw was released without much testing but was fixed up after a while. You can download a safe version from psp-hacks and probably pspgen although i got my installer from QJ and haven't had any save corruption problems.

Ugh. So what is it has MS Speed up hack? Some people play games in ISO format because some of us have genuine large capacity memory sticks. But if not having the MS Speed up hack kills you, you can do the M33-6+m33_620 combo or just patch your games. Same with GEN. Use the MS SPEEDUP MOD and patch your games.

My 8 Gig stick is more than ample. I just find that I much prefer to condense my games and play them in .cso... Even with storage space, no need to waste it.

Also note that GEN-D3 (even with Prometheus) can break compatibility with Persona 1 (and possibly other games?) if you use the M33 driver. Fortunately the NP9660 driver still works fine.

I'm thinking about using 5.50 Prometheus, my question is can I play patched iso with 5.50 Prometheus? Because most of my isos are already patched when I DL them.
Also, If I'm not satisfied with 5.50 Prometheus, can I downgrade back to 5.50 Gen D3?

Yes you can downgrade. You just need to run Hellcat's recovery flasher and flash GEN D3 on.

And you are going to start another M33 vs GEN vs Prometheus (Which uses GEN as it's base anyways) war thank you very much.
In all seriousness, It is up to the user himself. If you want the faster MS SPEEDUP hack and built in on-the-fly Prometheus patch compatibility, stick with GEN. If you want MS SPEEDUP with 1.50 compatibility, stick with M33. If you don't care about faster MS read speeds and just want on-the-fly decryption up to 6.20, go with Prometheus.

The question I KEEP asking, and only ever gets about 10% answered is "What is the difference over m33?", And I've yet to be told anything I don't already know; I'd like to not be constantly told that ''it's faster'', "you can run more games" I know this crap already.
Tell me what it has that m33 cannot provide, for example; can it use the ram properly for the browser? Can it play more music formats? Can the browser play flash with sound? Battery life better or worse? Bug fixes? Connectivity? Will it help me take over the world?

Calling people a troll because of one comment you don't like does not make them a troll. It's comments like that that damage reputations, of both parties, not to mention steer people away from the thread.
This is also the reason why I don't like posting on here, too much hostility.

When I first joined gbatemp, I figured this was a good community, and would be a nice place to hang out on, seeing that people actually helped one another.
But over time, I see that helpful nature vanish and we're left with people that become irate over the slightest things, get upset at a newbie because they don't know something, or forgot to check a thread.
Even the romsite communities aren't as hostile over ONE post as here, and they're supposed to be the 'bad guys'.
I'm now considering just giving up on the psp altogether, because when it comes down to it, "updating" it is a hassle; I have to sift through a mess before I find any leads that become dead ends or half information.
I'll just stay on m33 and call it a day.
