The lads, I've got 2 Wii U's. The first one has 5.4.0. The second one is a brand new (Smash Bros. bundle).
1. Should I update the first one to 5.5.1? Does this make sense?
2. 5.5.1 is the latest fw?

We've been told to stay on 5.4 if you have it.

I'm not sure but try to get a disc that updates to 5.3.2. (Yoshi Wooly World for example)
