You need to have PSP1000 or PSP2000 (non TA-088v3) that on cfw 5.50 GEN.Download 5.50 prometheus and extract to X:/PSP/GAME/[5.50 prometheus].
And if you have PSP3000 or PSP2000 (TA-088 v3 mobo) that on 5.03c,download the 5.03 prometheus.Extract to X:/PSP/GAME/[5.03 prometheus].Run the
5.03/5.50 prometheus update by going to you XMB --> Game (just the way you play a games).Follow whatever appear on your screen (3 clicks of 'X' button
if I remember correctly). After that you can check your new cfw on your XMB (SYSTEM SETTING --> SYSTEM INFORMATION).
Note : Directory X mention above is your PSP drive .

AFAIK retail games work on 5.50 prometheus. But I didn't try one (only tried clean ISO-Naruto-Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3

Been away from the PSP "scene" awhile, so I don't know Prometheus. Does this in any way work with the last M33?
Upgrade to GEN-D3 and then Prometheus.

I like running all of my games in .CSO format. For now, I think I will continue to patch my games and stay on M33. ^^

And what're you getting at? GEN and Prometheus firmwares play games in CSO format as well.

Are you sure about that, I thought that prometheus was used to patch newer games to work on M33 firmware OR on GEN, but GEN is not required. Just like the way I can play a game that requires 6.02 and I only have 5.00 M33-6. I'm not big on PSP, but I can get the games working without installing GEN.

Welcome to the thread. >.<
This thread is about the Prometheus FIRMWARE that enables you to play games that you would normally have to patch with Prometheus (the program) without patching them first.

Wasn't there a mod for GEN firmwares as well?

2 Actually... One turns it from 5.50 GeN to 5.50MHU (Don't quote me on the second name) That one adds the same mem card speedup, but runs unstable as heck. The other one everyone brags about was designed to speed up non-Sony mem cards. It does help, but even on a Sony brand card, .CSO files lag on GeN... Not a big deal if you just run them in .ISO format, but I like the extra space using .CSO files gives me.

I sorry, I've fallen behind on PSP hacking. Last I knew prometheus was used to do the patching. OH BOY, another firmware for the PSP, just what we needed. I still haven't installed the GEN line of firmwares. I will stick with my 5.00 m33-6 and patch the ISO.

I do agree, but tbh, I am grateful for projects like this. Keeps the homebrew scene alive.

In the source page faq he has at the bottom, it says this:

Q: PSP-1000/2000's version?
A: I PSP2000 stolen, the thief to blame it all to blame.
(Google Translate)

Does this mean that it won't work on my Phat 1003 ?
I have 5.50 GEN D3 if it helps.

Also exactly how would I install this since there isn't any instructions ?
Bought it Pre-Modded so not done before.
