I see. But is it worth it? I mean is it risky?

Depends on lot's of issues and is at ones own risk .

Also once get about, they may start dumping more games in .cia format , they are only a limit of a few game's at moment , and upgraded version of firmware used from 4.5 to latest for this software .

Until this time , it's very very limited .

It amazes me the fact people with a Gateway card are still willing to use this hack knowing this guy is a hacker himself and devs and others have told its not advisable to use!. Think about it???, you use your 3DS with your debit cards etc. on e-shop and he will have access to all your details, probably also don't you think its a bit of a coincidence the fact you need an e-shop title to run it "make sure you have used your debit card previously on e-shop to buy a game so I can access your details asap  "!!!! I can understand the people with a 4.x 3DS who don't own a Gateway card using it out of desperation but really if you still have a 4.x 3DS why don't you own a Gateway card anyway? and people with a Gateway card if your just using it to run .cia content then GW themselves are probably covering this in there next update, why don't you wait a while to be safe! :)

I beg these questions to be answered:-

1. Why do you need an internet connection running???

2.Why do you need a pre installed e-shop title???

3. Why do you need to copy and paste your IP address over???.

Has anyone stopped and thought these things could just be a trap for 3DS owners. :(

Edit: also I thought mods shut the other thread for the same reason what is going on in this thread or am I missing something?

I love techy hax stuff just for the heck of it. I'll try to set it up out of sheer fascination.

1. and 3. You need an internet connection and the ip address of your 3ds in order to send the DevMenu.cia file from your computer to your 3ds.

2. You need an eshop title so when you send the cia file to your 3ds it will show up as a gift.

Yeah m8 so they say! :teach: Me on the other hand I think its for other purposes and that is just a cover up explanation! You don't need that shit to run files on Gateway, .cia or not.

Without the IP you cant send the Dev menu data from pc to 3ds. Guys, you dont use the MAC adress, why scared. The IP depends on your gateway and NOT on the 3DS. With the IP he can just find your location.

Anyone extracted the converted .cia Mario games , Content of the SDHC card yet... to see if it's still encrypted are decrypted by checking on hex ? .

Dought it might be decrypted, But just a thought to test by - Could have changed as downloading from eshop .

"On your SD card navigate to "sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/<id0>/<id1>/dbs/". Create two files in this folder named title.db and import.db . Put the SD card back in your 3ds and go to System Settings, and attempt to manage the SD software. Let the 3DS do its repair process."

Found some think interesting on this once, Just messing about one time , If you're games are in a mess order as you deleted some games.

1. backup title.db and import.db to PC, and delete title.db and import.db in dbs folder .
2. place sd card back in 3ds - power up no DL games there
3. replace sd back into pc, and replace title.db and import.db back into dbs frolder
4. sd card back into 3ds once again
5. all games are back in a Neat order yay! , but gift wrapped once again :)

Nice little trick for a clean up of empty slot's !lol .

Thanks for the guide but I feel like it could really be improved with some extra details.

You do realize you can just download a free demo and not put in any sensitive information, right? Plus, since this is independent from a Gateway, it'll have nothing to do with this. This runs through the system, and has a different way of working, whereas the Gateway simulates a gamecard with a MicroSD to hold ROM data. Two totally different things.

Also, you can get your IP address of your 3DS by checking your access point's list of active connections, like so:

The IP address that you need to provide won't give away your location. 192.168.0.XXX is a localized IP address that connects you to your own little home network.

Yeah your probably rite about all that but seen as though many have said not to use it in the first instance I would tend to lean to the many and not use it myself else why mention it in the first place. I would rather wait for GW's next update to be safe than use some half soaked CFW to use the SMB2 DLC and I think others should read and digest and do the same before its too late! Know one knows 100% for sure if this CFW is safe to use, at all.

Rop MultiLoader is not illegal so I'm relinking it.

And every website you visit through the webbrowser has access to your public ip, so there's not much he could do with it.
i am jsut wondering ( I am no expert on this). But given the fact that this exploit has access to your whole 3DS, i wonder if he could push some code (instead of a .xml file) from his server to the 3ds if he wants (wether it is a "good" or "bad" code) and let it run.

anyway i would feel more safe if the connection with his server is removed from the cfw.
