Hacking 3in1 cheats - how ?

ok I have got a nice white EZ Flash V 3-in-1 coupled with my R4. Am using Randolph's 3in1 tool pack and the thing works fine.

I'm patching my GBA roms using EZ4 client v1.03.

My question is how do I get the cheats/action replay to work on the GBA games. The ... button next to the box where it says Cheat Info is greyed out and I cannot do anything.

Where am I going wrong guys ?

when you patch, it probably has an options to add cheats.

It does not like newer roms, there is an update here but it is quite old (I think I left it out of the newest EZ4 Client pack):
