Gaming 3DS's friend code system

So no surprises there, apparently friend codes are back to delude parents into thinking their children are safe.
Do you guys think they'll be a single code for all games, or like it's current system now?

As much as I'd like a universal friend code system, I really don't think that it's going to happen.

Not that I'd mind terribly; None of my friends are into portable gaming like I am.

Please tell me they're not going to use friend codes again... Why can't we have nice trophies and achievements and leaderboards and shit, and not have to share a stupid giant friend code? Bah

As long it's one code from the system for all games, I'm fine with it.

but i don't think they'll use 1 code for all the games
they could've easily done it on the wii if it was the case

If only one could have a universal friend code of numbers and letters, but have an alias on top of it to allow for a little personalization.
And maybe an avatar too. And if one could see the people one was playing with and send messages and friend requests and such.

If only, Nintendo. If only.

My opinion? Friend codes are useless and always have been. The effects of them "protectin teh childrenz" is placebic at best.

Exactly what i've been saying all along, how many people just go on forums and swap codes with strangers? A lot.

And yep there's friend codes.

For me the friend codes are really useless, and they had receive the feedback from the players, Nintendo know that the friend code blows, but they will make the mistake again.

I don't really care about the friend code.
We've dealt with it for the Wii and DS, so I can deal with it for the 3DS.
Besides, it enourages more hassle-free local play, which is much more social.

Don't know if that means that Friend Codes will be confirmed at the conference or whether they might have some kind of sweet Live/PSN username system up their sleeves.

They won't they'll have numbers and friend codes are already confirmed with SSFIV using them to battle friends.

It's locked to the system, so you're SOL if your hinge breaks or anything, so it seems.
