Homebrew 3ds Xl ruining 4.5.0 10e homebrew help

Hi ,
Got this 3ds xl running 4.5.0 10e
I am currently using a gateway flash card to run homebrew games
Are there any new method to modify it to play homebrew and emulators on it

No use of the gateway cartridge now
Or is there any advantage of using them

If I log on to internet and sign in to my NNID which I use on my Wii u to get the games .
Will I run the risk to update the f/w on my 3 ds which obviously I don’t want to update
2) is there any way to stop 3 Ds updating f/w like in Wii u you change the DNS and stop the update feature

don't need the gateway flashcard if your running just homebrew games.
you can update the firmware on luma3ds cfw
luma3ds doesn't work on 4.5 firmware.

I need to run homebrew and backup games plus emulators like pac man donkey kong etc .
Do I will need the flash cart
, what’s the best for me to do in this case
Should I go with the tutorial above ,
Or update according to the gateway 3ds flashcart instructions

• use freeshop or install .cia files using fbi for backup games and home-brew apps to the system menu.
• follow this thread to backup gateway saves to .cia games https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/
• Don't update the firmware on the Emunand past 11.2 if you want to sill use the gateway flashcard.
• you can run the gateway flashcard with Luma3ds firmware if you want to sill use the gateway flashcard https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-gateway-on-b9s.431691/

PS. don't own a gateway flashcard.

Gateway is obsolete. Unless you absolutely need its cheat menu, custom firmware is the better option. Follow the guide posted above and you'll be able to install backups and emulators to your home menu. You'll also be able to run the latest, official firmware and use your NNID without worry as well.
