3ds won’t turn back on.

My old style 3ds will randomly shut off and not turn back on for a bit. Sometimes it’s runs for only a few minutes and sometimes it will run for hours. But it constantly does this. I’ve tried replacing the battery to no avail. When the 3ds doesn’t want to turn on, the only thing that it will do is have the led light come on when I plug in the charger.

Could be a problem with the ribbon cables going to the upper screen.
Try various angles of opening more or less.

Either a bad battery or as kleinesns has pointed out could be a ribbon cable problem

If you did something to the unit that somehow enabled it to function again, then more details about what you did would be useful.
