Here's a quick mock up I did in Photoshop of the 3DS with Dual Slide Pads. I think the add on attachment is stupid looking and awkward. Let me know what you all think about my mock as its a first for me...lol.

Mock up 1

Mock up 2 - 360 controller style! lol

Mock up 3 - Credit goes to Silent Storm for the idea...lol

This is what they should have released in the first place. They should have learned from the mistakes the PSP made.

Although it looks extremely hard to game using the dpad and face buttons using that mockup. Uncomfortable at least.

Really? hm, I was thinking of moving the D-Pad down a inch or two I've always felt the D-Pad should have been, well more centered on the unit. I'm not sure it looks uncomfortable, I mean the PS Vita looks uncomfortable but still...I was thinking of placing the the joysticks in a more 360 controller like position. Actually thats a good idea here what the system would look like in a 360 controller fashion...lol, picks above!

Yeah I pretty much had a similar idea but with the buttons and d-pad in the opposite positions. They probably would have had to make the 3DS larger though in order to fit everything. However that means they could have put a larger battery in it as well.

That second slide pad is sitting right where the battery is located. It would require the system's bottom panel being thickened for it to fit, but that is obviously a compromise Nintendo should have made. It sure beats dividing the 3DS market less than one year into production.

@Centrix -- thanks, my gf gave me that nickname.

lol I think they should have come up with another design all together before actually settling on the NDS look with 3D capabilities. Yes, its a more powerful system both graphically and technically, but still, why not just redesign the new system to look like a new system, I don't believe I'm gonna say this but I give Sony and 'A' for effort, at least they stuck the second touch screen on the back of the system. Which in the end will cause more problems then its worth.

PSV really didn't.

Why do a completely different design when it works.

(Still in "we didn't really need another one" corner)

IF they had extra space to do it.

Than they should have redesigned the thing.
Then it'd have been bulkier, and people would have complained.

But hey, people are complaining in any case, so I guess they shouldn't have cared in the first place.

I think as well planed out as the system is they could've at least thrown all their heads together to create something a little more, um, how do you say, "Revolutionary" seriously! lol

O_O

Ok, how 'bout we have just one handheld with Sony and Nintendo behind it. How 'bout that for "Revolutionary".
