Is this normal? some cia files doesn't show the icon, and if I try to change it, that message shows up, even with 3ds files.

Anyone know why my .3dz ROMs, after converted to CIA with Simple CIA Converter, lose all their metadata? I have to apply it all myself (which takes ages, it literally has to go through the entire file to change a property) and the thumbnail..

Well, dont know... (maybe it generate other metadata when was repacked)
Faster it would if you unpack and pack it in cia

Well, first tell HOW do you convert it?
As I said, 3DS Simple CIA Converter 4.3 by RikuKH3. I dump my .3dz using Gateway, put the .3dz in the roms folder, run the app, generate ncchinfo, get xorpads, convert it to CIA. Done. Works perfectly but the metadata is gone. The .3dz has all the info, the product code, title ID, age rating etc, but the CIA only has the titleid.

Oh, you mean in 3ds windows explorer? It's because it dont have file for it
I create for myself some and all worked :)
Mostly all of the cia dont have any data for it...

Hmm, can you help me with ReiNand, because i still dont get it how to install it
With RX i understand how to do it, but for rai i dont find instruction (or dont get it how install it on GW)

Figured I'd mention this here. I've added some entries to the wiki:

- Final Fantasy Explorers USA and EUR entries and artwork
- Final Fantasy Explorers JAP artwork
- Hyrule Warriors Legends JAP info + international artwork
- Mario & Luigi Paper Jam USA + EUR entries and artwork.

Later today I will also be adding:
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS
- Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

For all entries I make it so there are both eShop versions with cia info as well as .3ds info.

This file have many info that i use for creating data 3ds win extension
And why wiki not recived info from it for most cias is confusing (Well, many 3ds dot have it too)

Pls use JPG not PNG... It's bigger and slower loading data from it (and i fixing all png now, crup) But thnks for hardwork
And how you edit wiki, i mean all changes i done on pc and not on internet
Oh, you forgot attach boxshot for BCEJ and you use 1 cover for USA and EUR release of FFE

Okey, i fix your mistakes and change some info on files from wiki
Better overwrite all files with mine, if you want right order in them
(If you create some that i dont have, maybe share it? Would be nice)
Hmmm, cant share here images, too big...
Well change PNG of games to JPG, not programs only games and all would works

DELETED infos, would share it with TSVN

I really love this extension, but I'm trying to understand how it works with .cias! Most of my cias don't get recognized and have no icons and the ones that do have an image that isn't from the boxshot folder, as you can see from my screenshot! Where does is get these images from? Also, in my screenshot, you can see that Hyrule Warriors Legends is the only one that has the correct icon! I went through the info folder and found out that this is because is actually has a .txt for its titleid (000400000017D500), therefor, the icon for a .cia is having some issues getting associated to the productid.txt (BZHJ in this case, which also exists)! I tried experimenting on a game which had a weird icon and created a .txt using its titleid and after that, the icon was created with the correct image!
I guess what I want to know is if there is a way to correctly associate the .cia file to the pid.txt file, so the image is created using the correct boxshot! I normally wouldn't mind the other weird icon, but as is doesn't show up for most of my cias, it kind of bothers me! If this isn't possible, I guess the only way to work around this would be to update the wiki for all the games creating a new entry with the pid as the titleid, thus creating the titleid.txt file which creates the correct icon (this is the case with Hyruel Warriors Legends), but this would be a lot of work!
So tl;dr:
-Where do the images for .cias come from?
-Can you associate the .cia to the pid.txt instead of the titleid.txt?
-Does the wiki have to be updated with the titleid for this to work?
Thanks and sorry for the long post! (:
P.S. thanks to Makein for creating entries with the titleid (the cia pid)! This is what made me notice all of this! :D

-Where do the images for .cias come from? - From icons of cia game that you see in home menu
-Can you associate the .cia to the pid.txt instead of the titleid.txt? - You can, THAT'S is interesting question. If we could do it, then we wont need to double create txt for 3ds and cia files
-Does the wiki have to be updated with the titleid for this to work? - Nope, need to be updated 3ds windows extension

i know mine isreally tempormental too some icons show up and some don't i wonder if region patching and cryptoifx affects it and makes them not show uo

also i would really like it if sav file support could be added that would be a big help

And yes, region patches meter, i have original hyrule warriors and patched (fixed) for us\eur
Original apear great, but fixed have different tittle id and because of it don't show info
And what's is this save support?

What was wrong in this txts? cia (000400000017D500) and 3ds (BZHJ) shows normal for me... Yeah, i forgot about original pid in cia BZHJ, but game only show info from it and for file it use number 000400000017D500.

If after overwriting it don't appear, then it's normal. You need restart pc or reinstall 3ds win. extension
If you want help and create info for cia roms then:
1. Create txt with number of game (Lets look on HW) "000400000017D500.txt"
2. Open and edit it like that:
Code:
PID: 000400000017D500 - Matters, game id on 3ds like name of txt
PID-Original: BZHJ - For easy find, matters
Title: Zelda Musou Hyrule Allstars - Not matters, but i like it. Because same roms have name like fagasfwe
Region: JP - Not matters, but i REALLY thinks that it is matters... For me :)
Date: 2016-01-21 - Not matters, but i like it
Rating: B - Not matters, but i like it
Publisher: Koei Tecmo Games - Not matters, but i like it
Boxshot: BZHJ.jpg - Matters, name of boxshot in boxshot folder
Barcode: 4988615081125 - Not matters, but i like it
ProgramId: 000400000017D500 - Don't matters. Well, like name of txt
3. Create cover from 3ds game with size 182x182 and in BZHJ.jpg format
4. Place txt and jpg in folders
5. Reboot explorer.exe (reboot pc - reinstall 3ds win. extension)

OH, RIGHT! I forgot that you would not have images for new roms that i created txts...
Would upload them now. Here you go:
http://www.mediafire.com/... - DELETED, would share on TSVN

IMPORTANT: ALL covers that i add not custom made in photoshop! They all from 3ds box covers. I really like it like that :)
And looks like you got this files of HW boxshots not from me i guess. Or i share them before... Dunno...

Hmm. I think WOULD be great to create all this folders on TortoiseSVN. Any updates that someone can make would be uploaded online and shared with all people

I edited the wiki just like anyone would edit any wiki. Make an account and hit the edit button on a page, or when a page doesn't exist rewrite the URL to jump to that page then edit it so it creates it. Like I said, that's how literally any wiki works (including Wikipedia, which is where I learned it).

You are partially wrong on the whole JPG > PNG thing. Please read over this Stack overflow page to properly learn about the difference. The images I saved where all in PNG-8 format. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit images where necessary such as cropping out the Nintendo 3DS side strip and resizing.

I used the same ones for USA as EU because when uploading the file I got a duplicate file error. This being because I use photoshop to properly size the image then simply change the file name - something that doesn't work because then the image metadata still makes a 100% match.

----

Also for the love of god and all that is holy do NOT use TortoiseSVN. It literally is the WORST of the worst for file managing. Just use Github or Bitbucket if you need version control.

---

Lastly @brennerei the reason your HW:Legends works is probably because I carefully added it on the Wiki :^) Like the help page of the wiki literally states, for .cias the PID has to be the TitleID. The TitleID can be found on http://www.3dsdb.com/ Thus the entire lot for the cia of HW:Legends is:

Code:
{{Gameinfo |
PID = 000400000017D500 |
PID-Original = |
Title = Zelda Musou Hyrule Allstars |
Region = JP |
Date = 2016-01-21 |
Rating = B |
Publisher = Koei Tecmo Games |
Boxshot = BZHJ.png |
Barcode = 3DS eShop |
ProgramId = 000400000017D500 |
}}

whereas the one for the .3ds is:

Code:
{{Gameinfo |
PID = BZHJ |
PID-Original = CTR-BZHJ-JPN |
Title = Zelda Musou Hyrule Allstars |
Region = JP |
Date = 2016-01-21 |
Rating = B |
Publisher = Koei Tecmo Games |
Boxshot = BZHJ.png|200px|thumb|
Barcode = 4988615081125 |
ProgramId =  |
}}

It literally came down to reading and understanding help page on the wiki which was actually really easy to grasp :)

Well i don't know where is i'm wrong because png bigger than jpg. I use not photoshop for re-sizing, but microsoft tool for it and it can cut image too. It's faster to work with.
And i don't need version control. I want folder to be online with all changes that i made... But you're right... On windows 7 it's working different way than when i use it on xp. No changes shows on files and folders... this is bad, delete it :\

delete.. what? Also that issue you're having with no changes on files is related to the maximum amount of thumbnail icons windows supports. On Windows XP there were fewer base icons than Windows 7. You can find a fix here:
http://stackoverflow.com/a/1228918/4445090

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

And again - it all depends on what kind of PNG you use. PNG-8 is smaller than JPG whereas PNG-24 is bigger than JPG.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

But I'll use JPG, no probs :)

Thanks, youre right about PNG-8 is smaller. But it's easy way to look on database in folder when games in jpg and progs in png :)
PS: Never edit any wiki xD Well, it's easy for me to create on pc and share by link :)

I would upload some cia files that i added (now) with all info and covers folders
My last update for Covers and Info
Great work that i done with creating covers, 1 problem to find cover for game that you needed
