In a USB cable, there are usually four wires. Two for data, one for ground, one for power.
If I may add it's 5 Volts at the power wire if I remember correctly (or something around 5 Volts)

Er, see. Mentioning how much power it pushes out wasn't really a priority since I was dumbing it down for people.

I'll be getting my hands on a spare 3DS charger in a few days so I'll make a small tutorial on how to strip the charger cable, take the plug, and then transplant it onto a USB cable for charging with your PC.

Doooo. Waannnttt. :DDD<
You can get USB-3DS/DSi cable for less than $2 on DX. Is there really a point in getting a charger to convert it manually? Unless you have other use for the charger or it's broken I don't see why would you go through the hoops to make one yourself.

Don't get me wrong, I like doing projects like this from time to time (I recently modified Galaxy Tab 10.1 USB cable to make it work with any charger) but it's $1.68 for a finished cable - the time you spent on this is worth more not to mention the charger.

I got one for free with my first AK2i, only ever used it once to charge my DSi. I'm not quite sure where it is now though.

It would be really hard to manufacture something like a cartridge with a USB port into it. Plus, it would be like running a cartridge that's unsigned, just wouldn't work.

Now you gave me some really bad memorys about the DS-Xtreme, first Slot 1 Solution, did cost 120€, only 512MB Storage and support was dropped very fast with faulty updates and bricks.

Yeah but may as well.

If you're like me in Canada for some reason Canada Post likes to charge you up the ass to get something mailed to you if it's even vaguely electronic related. Got a t-shirt from think-geek once and they charged me 35 bucks because they said 'Occasionally electronics come from there so we gotta treat them all like electronics' and it's just duisfhidugh.

Or if you can't order stuff online but have a spare charger, etc.

Dat necrobump.
You can use a FTP server. There are serveral homebrew ones. Or the official data transfer software.
If I want to use it it's because I have a very bad internet connection
It will be easier to use a usb cable instead the micro SD
Where I am if I use FTP I upload/download in octet/s

Yes, there is a way
A USB hardmod, but it's easier just to remove the SD card and transfer your files.

I don't want to damage or lose the sd card (it's a 128go) and I don't always have a screwdriver to unscrew the shell of the 3ds
Sometime I don't screw the shell but sometimes the screws are screwed

Sorry If I'm not clear ^^'

Well, technically this has been done, that's what a hardmod is. You have to manually solder it onto the 3ds motherboard, and leave a port for it on the outside. I don't think you would either want to do this or spend money for someone else to do it. You're better off just doing it wirelessly or just taking out the sd card like everyone else.

use money isn't a problem if that can help me, do you know where I need to do the soldering ?
It can't be the same as hardmod isn't it ?
