Homebrew 3ds update?

Went to the home menu at it said there was a new update. After updating I went into the system setting and the firmware was the same. Is there an actual update?

3ds System settings says Sys 11.2.0-35U which I believe is the same. Also the "update" was almost instantaneous.

likely this is because youre missing a system app or likely somehow youre on a "frankenfirmware" the system often caches installed system apps and features and requests an update if theyre outdated

So does it only happen when the system detects missing assets? like the Browser downgrade for QR cheat codes or something?

Dunno. I've had luma + a9lh for a while now(got it last november). Looks like nothing changed so I guess i'm fine. It could be becuase I recently deleted the old nnid and put my other one on it.

I got this too, and it happened while on a system that had never had any CFW at all. I hate it, sudden 9.6 update spotpass nag and then YouTube app is here spotpass nag

Well the golden rule is if you get a weird update nag, check the official Nintendo website for firmware updates before making a post here. 99% of the time it's because of frankenfirms/missing or edited/system titles.

Well, the update service works by using hashes, so perhaps there could've been something like a few bytes corrupted.
