I thought the infrared port was the black square next to the stylus. However when I suggested it, someone else said it was for a strap attachment. No idea how that would work though.

That means all ds games normal and i

That doesn't mean anything

In the DSi normal games and DSi games goes in the same port too,
but it still plays in normal ds mode...

Why is there a flashcart in that 3DS?

Pretty sure to test the games easier would be kind of stupid if you always would need to make a new Card for a new test version of a game imo.

Is it just me or does it look like they have put a flash card in it?????

It says "port" too you know.
It means ds and dsi carts will work in the 3ds, but the implementation of it will likely be by shutting down the extra hardware.
The main reason for doing this is to make sure the game runs 1:1, not 5 times faster if the cpu is 5 times faster, etc.

IR Port?? That's a light to indicate the Wireless is on!! Unless you're looking somewhere I'm not!

IR's on the back beside the cart hole.
That is an LED indeed.

No it uses WiFi. IR could be used for things like PokeWalker, although i'm surprised they didn't use bluetooth for that.

I must say the more I see it the more I like the look of the 3DS. The red colour in particular looks great. But I still don't like the mismatched bottom.

Bluetooth would draw 9001 times more power.

Also, who knows? Could allow a hax via IR.
The more ways they allow it to interface the better for badly-made 3D homebrew.

If used to, but not now.

You have Ultra low power Bluetooth which is fine for coin cell devices. Obviously the trade off is data rate, but it should still be fine for these devices.

the gameboy color had ir, i only used for pokemon silver gold & crystal tho. &the pikach gs thing. was wondering what else it was used for, & that are there plans for it now?

I really like that combination of dark red and black, but how about the buttons?
Are they mushy again or still clicky?
