Yes i am connected to the Internet and can visit other pages. I'm slowly losing hope.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I already checked for errors using chkdsk and hwtest. Didn't work. The more that solutions don't work, the more that i am scared to touch my 3DS. Thank you so much for trying to help. But i still can't do a full install after all these steps. I actually haven't installed AuroraWright's version yet because i am scared.
Have you chkdsk'ed since this 2.1 issue started?
Extra files on the SD card outside of the a9lh directory shouldn't cause problems.

SafeA9LHInstaller showing the installation screen, then shutting down when pressing Select without doing *anything* is an unusual failure mode. @Plailect any advice here?
Yea I agree the extra files shouldn't do anything but figured they are .ini files an something might be using them.

To it seems like it can't write to sd. I.e it tries to dump otp.bin, but can't so system powers off

this morning i first extract SafeA9LHInstallerv2.6.7.7z to root, my o3ds J at 2.1.0 showed in 2xrsa "loading arm11.bin ..." for seconds then hanged.

Then i extracted SafeA9LHInstallerv2.0.6.7z to root and retried, this time a black chaotic screen displayed at the bottom screen and then the installation menu appeared.

fyi.

I didn't say the installation screen didn't appear, i said when you press select on the installation screen it instantly shuts down.

I did.

yes. So your installer whichever version now did display installation screen properly.

I think you should try another micro sd card ..

Try another card.

Try another card.
I don't have any other good microSD cards. The only other one i have came bundled with the system which is only 4 GB.
The installation screen always did appear properly. Just when i press Select, i instantly shut down.

Use the 4gb - format it then just follow the 'installing a9lh' page. Once the installer runs 'hopefully', switch back to the other sdcard

So i just need to format the sdcard and then do the Installing arm9loaderhax? That's it? It's that simple? No having to copy the files9 folder or something? Please reply! I'm waiting!

Why is no-one replying? I guess i am not patient enough? Is there anything i need to copy?

Well the original advice was 'try another SD card'. Since you don't have that, reformatting *might* do the trick.
Myself I think you should just try another SafeA9LHInstaller version (2.0.3) and triple-check all the files in the Plailect guide section

If your CTR transfer went wrong, the best course would be to restore your NAND backup and try again. I don't know if there is a way to launch Decrypt9/HourGlass9 from 2.1.0 though, never been there.

No. Just the 'Installing a9lh' page. Once you have a9lh installed - switch back and continue with the guide [loading hourglass9 and restoring your nandmin.bin]

And you format the sdcard first to make sure its 'clean' - do a full format on it - which shouldn't take long with the 4gb card

What do you do at the step that says "Copy aeskeydb.bin to the /files9/ folder on your SD card". Do you create the folder first and then copy aeskeydb.bin or do you copy the backup of the folder and then copy the aeskeydb.bin. I'm sorry if i'm annoying. I'm just trying to be safe.

copy backup and then copy aeskeydb.bin, if it exists replace it

Just make a new folder. Or you could just skip that part, you don't need to use it until after a9lh is installed - it's needed in section iv. And you should switch back to your original sdcard after completing section ii

But it is already FAT32.
There may be a corrupt file messing things up for you. We're ruling that out by having you:
-backup all the files of your current sd card to your computer so they're safe
-format sd card
-re-download the appropriate files (the files in the guide and/or given here by other members)
-put the newly downloaded files in the right places on the newly formatted sd card
-go to that website on 3ds to try and install a9lh again

Basically, we're trying to rule out the files being messed up. It happens from time to time.

Now Firefox is saying that file_input_v3.zip is a virus or malware?
