Hardware 3DS semi-broken?

For some reason, my 3DS seems to be very annoyed. It's been a few weeks since @gamesquest1 hardmodded my 3DS (I AM NOT BLAMING THEM FOR THIS, considering I wasn't the nicest to this 3DS I'm not surprised) - if the screen is in the slightly over 90 degree angle (\_) it works fine, but if I extend it further back it powers off (like a popping noise and a screen flash)
Can anyone think why this is happening?

loose/damaged ribbon! common problem!!!

Yeah sounds like the ribbon cable for the top lcd is probably loose, with it being a o3ds xl I don't actually touch the ribbon cables so it's probably just worked itself loose yours was the one with the cracked hinge right? So tgere was probably a bit more stress on the cable than normal
