Hardware 3DS sales fail on launch day?

I'm not sure if I posted this in right section but how do you guys feel about 3DS on launch day?
I just checked gamestop/amazon/bestbuy.. they all have units in stock.
If I remember correctly, previous consoles or handheld units were sold out within few hours.

I'm gonna be honest and say that I grabbed few to resale but it seems fail investment =x (of course I can always return it)
