Gaming 3ds revision

The "XL" is the exact reason I'm waiting to get a 3DS.. Nintendo screwed me over when I got the DSi on launch and then a few weeks later released the "XL".

If it was bought on launch then a XL version came 2 years after not a few weeks later.

Actually the time it took from the DSi release to the DSiXL release was a mere 11 months...

The DS Time line from first release

DS Phat - 11/20/2004 - DS Lite - 03/02/2006 = Just over 1 year 3 months

DS Lite - 03/02/2006 - DSi - 04/02/09 = 3 years 1 month

DSi- 04/02/09 - DSiXL - 03/05/2010 = 11 months

so I would say around summer 2012-holidays 2012 we will see a new version of the 3DS.

Still isn't a few weeks later.

OK I see, but it still possible it would be like the dsi date for any real difference not just a size change.

I predict a revision very soon. Not much of a change, just an adjustment so the bottom screen doesn't make direct contact with the top screen (when closed.) Tisk tisk nintendo.

One thing I see them doing is a throw back to the GBASP era where that DID stick around for years. Battery replacement with a double life cell. Sure they were dicks and didn't release it in the NA market, but in Japan there was one and easily imported. Since it's so jammed in there as is and they can only really work their way outwards with an XL model I can see helping that sorry ass battery life with a longer life option.

Also for the stylus, did any of you think the system is so cramped inside that they OMG CAN'T have the stylus on the right side of the system like the DS(I) did?
