Hardware 3DS refuses to update

I'm on 11.7 trying to update to 11.8 and it will not update...
No I dont have a modded homemenu. So Idk what it is.

You can try updating with sysUpdater using the n3DS USA firmware package 03c129bba96d3f0d4634d5e8e6e22248.

Look for that darth site that hosts those packages.

Edit - Might want to backup your SysNAND first before attempting.

You can try CTR Transfer but you gonna get a clean nand, problem seem to be your NAND, what is the end part of the firmware 11.7.0-40 ? Or you got another #?

Also there is the sysupdater options that @TurdPooCharger suggested.

11.7.0-40U is at the end. This 3ds bricked when I installed fastboot3ds and its been a nightmare ever since. I finally got it to boot up and it just doesnt want to update :/
It has been updated before. But 11.8 is just terrible. I dont want to wipe everything because freeshop is gone... so thats a no go for me....

Does the progress bar move at all or does it show that message immediately?
I had the same problem (for me it showed the message immediately), at the time I was using emuNAND so the solution was to manually back up all the user data in NAND and make a new emuNAND. For sysNAND users the equivalent would be to perform a ctrtransfer.
If the progress bar moves a little each time you may be able to complete the update by just starting it over and over until it completes.

Your router's firewall could be blocking the update server so you will need to use sysupdater and look for the 3ds firmware cias for 11.8 on Google

Disabled my firewall. Even tried using another wifi, nothing.

Do you know if you are banned in any way?, if you are banned you can't update the system firmware.

If you are banned, yes you can't update through Nintendo server.

Try going online with a game that has online feature, like Pokemon.
