When turning on a 3DS is it ment to go straight to the menu or should there be health and safety instruction like on on DSi/XL and DS Lite

It goes straight to the main menu. I'd say luckily, but I never turn the thing off anyway. On the old DS that warning definately was a nuisance.

They put the health and safety messages into a channel.
You need to launch that for that bullpoopie.

A nice feature imo.

However, I must say, compared to the DS/DSi/DSi XL booting time, the 3DS apparently takes longer.

And you can move that channel off-screen so you'll never have to see it.
Can't delete it. But out of sight, out of mind, ya know?

Yes, because now it boots into a full "operating system" instead of just some BIOS screen with 5 options that each start a simple program.
