if you are not tech savvy then id just buy a SKY3DS and play the roms you like, if you have the time and effort to put into the topic at hand then go with gateway but dont expect it to be plug and play off the bat.

So I still have so many questions I want to answer and I figured why not ask them here? Granted, right now it's one question but I know it will lead up to more:

So I have my retail cartridges such as Animal Crossing and Super Smash Brothers. If I downgrade (I don't have Gateway Flashcard), will I still be able to play the retail games? (Saves sill work and all that jazz?)

I am on 9.4? System Settings screen says 9.2.0-20U

That is just for a CFW that works only with 6.X games and below, if I am not mistaken.

some ingame cheats have recently surfaced on the net so it's possible but tricky if my memory serves me right.

Using the browser exploit, it would kick me back to the homescreen, and not the the Gateway exploit menu unless I hold down L. I no longer have to deal with that, though, since I've already downgraded my 3DS to 4.2.

Sorry I thought I read 9.2, yes your nand can be backed up and a place that I ordered from was realhotstuff.com who gave me no issues with 3 days. In the end it's your preference of course.

How do I backup my CIAs save files?

What's recommended? To delete our installed .CIAs through BBM or Data Management in emuNAND? Pros and Cons?

How buggy is installing themes in .CIA? Is it okay to do so?

You can cheat in Pokemon if you want, using PkHeX, can only be done using Gateway though.
