ROM Hack 3DS MAME EMULATION

I Have New 3ds Xl hombrewd on 11.13 version.I Can play both 3ds and ds games.
I Was wondering if there is any way to play mame games on 3ds.If yes i would like to know if they run smoothly ?
If yes give me please instruction or link or video or something to understand.

I think there's a Retroarch release for the 3DS that can do arcade ( MAME or FBA, not sure) but I have never tried it, I might look into it if experienced users advise it, there might be topics about it here as well:

edit : apparently there are some performance issues, so if there's a way of doing MAME of FBA without Retroarch I'd be interested!

If you've o3ds xl, the retroarch will not work for mame or fba.
