Hello, I ordered a 3DS, should be delivered soon. I read alot about people who claim they have a "loose hinge", is this a real issue or are people just being paranoid? From the looks of it pretty much every 3DS hinge wobbles to some degree.

Mine wobbles a little, but it is so minor that you won't even notice it.

It is supposed to wobble actually if I'm not wrong.

You know, even brand new cars something get called back to the dealer because there is something wrong. Happened to Honda recently to change 40 000 break pedal. There is nothing to be concerned about quality control. This stuff happen, live with it.

I was kind of bummed about the loose hinge on my 3DS, until a couple weeks ago when a chunk of plastic broke/flew off the hinge of my DS Lite. Apparently the DS Lite hinge was too tight, and now my system which I've treated perfectly looks broken, by no fault of mine. I'd rather have the wobble than a broken hinge.

The wobble is supposed to protect the hinge.

Mine doesn't wobble (much), but with proper care, the hinge won't break easily. Like my DS Lite, the hinge doesn't wobble at all but I have no problems such as broken hinges

Some 3DS have stiff hinge that is good but still is slightly wobbly... these are good 3DS'
some 3DS have loose hinge, incredibly loose... these are not so good 3DS'.

Scratches on your 3D screen are one to be weary of though.

Erm... screen protectors?

Hori ones cover the whole top and the touchscreen.

why get screen protectors for the top screen that you are not suppose to touch?

The lower screen actually SCRATCHES the top portion.

It's somewhat a major design flaw.

Without screen protectors, expect two lines.

is there actually any reason that justifies the $250 price tag on the 3DS?
Any reason why you have to troll?

I'm not trolling im just pretty annoyed that I paid $250 and hear stuff like this going on: loose hinges, bottom screen scratching the top, poor battery life, etc etc etc.

I don't recall any of my other nintendo consoles having design flaws or an abnormally high rate of manufacturing defects.

You don't need to get all defensive about it.

Precisely.

In fact I bought another 3DS for my little bro in the US a few days back, cuz Singapore sells it like killers.
I appreciate the $250 price tag.

However, this set has a wobbier hinge.

The wobble shouldn't bother you much unless you moving it around to play the pre-installed software(faceraiders,ar cards)
