Ok. To start off im new so I dont know if im doing this right. Im completely new. With that I'm going to go ahead and see if I can get help. I have an old 3ds xl which I decided to splice a charger for it (I know im an idiot). When I charged it I heard a loud pop. I've already replaced the fuse. I'm thinking it's the ec1 now on the mother board. I don't know how to check it or bridge it. I really want it working again. Thanks to anyone who helps

Your o3DSXL motherboard is most likely permanently hardbricked. In the off chance it's salvageable, you can try replacing these:
  • EM1 - power supply filter/choke next to the charging port.
  • F1 - microfuse closest to the charging port.
  • F2 - microfuse near the rear end of the SD slot, next to capacitors C192 and C194. Don't get this confused for TH1.
  • CKP TI [...] - Texas Instrument BQ24072 charging chip that's behind the charging port.

This doesn't even touch upon whether you fried the accessory components like the speakers, LCDs, cameras, battery, etc. If after replacing those IC & SMD components on the motherboard, the surest way to test if it still works is to swap the board on another fully functional o3DSXL.

Because of encryption, your last option in recovering your games, saves, and extdata from the Nintendo 3DS folder would be to brute force the correct KeyY tied to its <ID0> folder if you have your Friend Code: #### - #### - ####. You're going to have contact your 3DS friends for that code if you don't have or remember it.
