this. evey game i have bought before getting a flash card had this message in it
BUT i am still playing my games just fine after i had bought a flash card.

They said "Soon" at the begining of March

Still, since they are now making them with the 3DS update built in, it definately sounds like they really do mean it this time

From what I've heard, 2i and RPG are workable with 3DS. Forgot where I heard RPG tbh, but the website only shows it as being compatible with 2i.

The RPG is a no-go.

Only the 2i.

EDIT: As far as security for running DS things, the 3DS is just an updated DSi, so if a card didn't work with the DSi at any point after the first firmware blocking update it won't work on the 3DS.

No it doesn't mean that at all. There are no dumps or confirmations of getting 3DS mode to work with any flashcarts.
It should mean the carts run on DS mode... As it was made to do but now also working on the 3DS.

I think that Acekard Team is really confident that their flashcard is gonna work on the 3DS, I mean they already added a new sticker for it and changed the sticker on the flashcard itself

i was about to sms a friend to order me an acekard 2i right now
so they are just saying that the flashcard works with 3ds mode now
if its true well that was pretty fast and we can expect to see the emulation of 3ds games pretty fast

Well that's an entirely different matter.


And I'm not sure but I would expect 3ds roms would require a new flashcard anyway.

So, regarding the upcoming Acekard update:

I currently have an acekard2i and a DSi, and I was dumb and updated my DSi's firmware before updating the acekard so that it would work on the updated DSi firmware. I don't have access to another DS.

Will the update that allows the acekard to run on a 3DS be similar, in that you will need to run the update while using a DS that can use the acekard?

They're selling ones now that work on the 3DS and if I need to, buying a new one wouldn't be the ideal solution but I'd probably go ahead and do it.

Yes. The 3DS's security for DS carts is the same type the DSi uses (at least for now).

EDIT: I think question number 1 or 2 should state that nothing plays 3DS ROMs.

Lots of R4-named carts have 3DS in the name, and people think they play 3DS ROMs.

No it doesn't. All it saves to/loads from the SD is StreetPass and SpotPass data.
