Well GBATemp does have a "watch thread" function people could use to have important up^dates e-mailed or noted to them right? All that is needed is a bit of patients...

To those wondering if they should update, I say do it if you're just a regular consumer with no interest in hacking. I know people want to play homebrews and pirate, whatever, (dont pretend pirates dont exist) but i really doubt they're so far into the process of exploiting the 3ds. As a consumer, it really isn't worth it to skip out on the latest 3ds games and whatnot.

If the good fellows do happen to figure out how the 3ds works, they will most likely find a way for getting past the update at that time. For now, i say enjoy your 3ds to it's fullest and turn that internet switch on. Have fun, people~

And i update my 3DS an go to GBA temp and there will be big letters "DON'T UPDATE YOUR 3DS..."

I got a Japanese 3DS since the 3DS wasn't hacked. From reading the thread, I guess no major progress was made in hacking the 3DS or removing region lock, so I'm saying, I guess it was really worth it to import a J3DS, since I only wanted region lock broken for my needs.

lol, I know what you mean. It's by pure luck that I didn't update my 360 and ruin it's ability to be jtag'd before the news about that one broke.

That said, if I get a 3DS game that requires an update, I'll still do it.
