You won't need an R4. It'll be able to run off of the SD card since these are 3DS mode exploits. And it's already done-it's just a matter of releasing it. Depends on when the devs decide to release it. They're just worried about system updates right now.

If they can make a homebrew rom that runs off the sd card which installs a CFW to allow it to Play *.3ds files off the sd card and
Boot Games from any region then thats good enough

Hopefully mario cart 7 is one of the exploitable games. I wonder if they need the actual cart to hack it or it can be done from the sd card, since I am buying a bundle which has the game on the sd card.

I doubt nintendo knows what the vulnerability is and even if they did recalling millions of copies of games would be insane.

Slow down first if there is going to be a cfm or alternate os then we first need to learn about the bootrom which will require the chip decapping.

Alright, it's not Mario Kart 7, and they can't make CFWs currently-it's impossible. Even having kernel access doesn't help. Let's not name or cut away any more games so that Nintendo can't figure it out. I want good homebrew that uses the 3D screen in a better way. Like at least a video player for example.

That's a lot of 3DS games that works with the exploit, it would be so funny if OoT 3D is one of them, Twilight Princess had an exploit that led to getting the Wii hacked, if OoT 3D can be used, then Nintendo will have committed the same error twice, having a Zelda game that can be used to exploit there consoles
