So lets say if I use this hack it might brick my 3DS if I UPDATE IT, right
I don't think you've really grasped anything I've said.
No basically in the past on the Wii, they have had to find new exploits to install the homebrew channel, or prevent the homebrew channel from being purged during a Wii system firmware update.
A
3DS homebrew launcher needs to assume that:
- The exploit will become unavailable, possibly very quickly.
- An installed homebrew launcher title on the home menu would be purged by a firmware update
So in order to update a 3DS but still retain a homebrew launcher
- The homebrew launcher must be able to alter its header/title information so it is not identified by a blacklist that purges unauthorised changes
- Ideally the HBL's header can be generated to be unique to the system
- The ability to change the header should be easily done through the HBL itself
