Hardware 3ds freezing

After updating to the newest firmware my 3ds is constantly freezing. If I try to load anything it will go to a black screen. And I have to hold the power button just to turn it off. After reformatting the SD card I was able to click on the programs but nothing would happen. I called Nintendo about it and they said to send it in to get repaired but I was wondering if anyone else has had any of these issues, I can't find anything else online about it.

Well, I haven't had any issues of any kind. I asked two of my friends with a 3DS and neither do they. I think you just had a bit of bad luck there, bro. I say you should send it to Nintendo ASAP.

I had it once in OoT. While being in the lost forrest and playing my ocarina, the picture froze, and the sound kept going.

Only a hard reset helped.

Never happened again.
