Most previous firmwares were released on one of those weekdays. And they said early 2014. Multirom and card 2 were already nearly done at the end of 2013.

Think about how much tricker this update is than the last, what if it is even more unstable? Would you want GW to prematurely release something that could brick your hardware and/or card? I would encourage GW to take their sweet time on this major update.

please not another beta

but its true that gateway is a little bit slow its always "double-check" and well release it in a few days... but the continu to create more and more for wan big final, but gateway doesnt understand that we dont want promises we want a software. and if the want to make other feateres, let them do it in version 2.1

yeah, but this whole "gateway bricks consoles" debacle might very well lead them to triple check and test their code again, more often than they would have otherwise. Nothing bad about that, granted, they just shouldn't have made any concrete release date announcements while not being ready for release.

But no matter if they continue their approach (giving time frames without delivering) or switch to e.g. blizzards release philosophy (soon TM, aka when its done), someone will inevitably bitch about it. ("Waaah you promised me rainbow defecating unicorns waaah!")

Well, I'm gonna take a guess and say they're gonna announce the release of their new firmware later today. Wanna know why?

Because my subscription to World of Warcraft is ending tomorrow and it's really gonna open up my day. GIMME MULTIROM SO I FEEL WHOLE INSIDE, GATEWAY.

I recently purchased a r4i gold deluxe for my pink 3ds xl. Its running firmware 4.5-10u. Ive gone through the setup tutorial. I have run the wood r4 kernel and run "3ds setup". The program displayed "3ds setup process is completed" but the 3ds does not crash when I click Nintendo DS Profile. I am unsure as to what i am doing wrong.

Use Gateway's ".nds" installer included with their firmware. Just drag the only ".nds" file included with one of their downloads to the root of your Mini SD.

Ok. Thanks I will try that now. I am a bit nervous however because of reading gateway released software that could potentially brick some 3ds consoles. Is there any particular version I should use to avoid this? Thanks again for the help.

The bricking code is in the launcher.dat, and as long as you use 3.3b (which happens to be 2.0) you should be safe.

Would you look at that, Gateway is causing people to be scared of their products and software.

Same difference, you guys are basically the PR arm for the gateway team...

If I didn't know better I would think Gbatemp is directly affiliated with the gateway team.

Why? Because it offers support for 3DS flashcards? or because people tend to recommend Gateway when users ask for which flashcard to buy? I would say you just like to troll here.

Wait, I don't really get what's happening here, was the final 2.0 leaked? Gateway stopped mentioning it. They lied of course when they said "early days of the new year."

Early days of 2014 is subjective. It can be January, February.. all the way up until maybe May. Maybe they hit a last minute bug that is proving hard to solve and that's why they didn't release around Xmas 2013
