I updated everything on the past sunday at the exact release of the gateway update.. and I even backed up my NAND alredy.. but every time I try to enter the emuNand it just does not work.. it always says Ver. 4.X.X in the setting app, is someone like me?

may be I'm doing something wrong.. just for the checks.. do I have to put the GW Mode button or the Classic mode button? either doesn't work, anyway..

Did you actually use the Format EmuNAND option? You need to do that first before you can use EmuNAND.
Make sure to have a backup of your entire SD card (and your dumped NAND) before you use the Format EmuNAND option.

Using the Format EmuNAND option requires you to have 1 GB free on your SD card

oh! I didn't do that before.. thought it was bad since that required me to delete some of my old games from 4.5 ha ha.. oh well, thanks a lot.. gonna try it later when I get home..

Did you use the option "format emunand" its last on that list I think. It prepares your sd card for emunand and hides like 1gb off your sd. Check your sd card on pc if its 1gb less then it should be then its got partition for emunand

I've been checking out for a 3DS flashcard for over 2 years now and I'm actually quite glad that in this year Gateway has been released. Luckily, my firmware is on version 4.5.0 10E since my last firmware update quite some time ago, so I should be able to run the card just fine. Though I am curious before I'm going to buy Gateway though. These 2 cards is a final purchase? I assume the beta state is software wise, and not hardware? So that in the end, I won't be purchasing another set of cards.

Well I do think that there will be more flashcards coming that will be better than the Gateway, but that will probably be after a long time

True, but I would assume this would be it would be based off the Gateway unless they find a great way to find a leak / security issue within the latest firmware of which I currently doubt seeing the patched it. I mean, nintendo is quite forceful on the security of the 3DS seeing it already took a few years for the Gateway to appear.

I would just like to know if the Gateway card is a final purchase, and the rest of the updates are software related.. Rather than buying a new pair of cards from gateway later on in the future.

Yeah, the next updates will only be software related, no reason for any new hardware as of now

Just read in a German forum that the "full" 2.0 update with Pokemon/Animal Crossing support and multirom will be released around christmas. I will update first post with the infos of the just released beta on saturday. Currently have no time.

Rom dumping would cause trouble i think for the Scene, due to there would be possible incomplete dumps because would be too many P2P dumps to keep track of.
the groups with dumpers seem to get the main games done early anyway.

i inquired about Region Free being added to classic mode for the Retail imports also and just waiting for a response about it

Rom dumping feature is a must... Your potential trouble are silly worries, especially with sites like redump in mind. Community effort to share checksums can make it very easy to verify dumps are OK.

Are you suggesting dumps are filled with malicious content or just that they are fake and don't work. What type of verification do you want to dump for.

I wasn't suggesting anything other than the fact that community efforts to ensure proper dumps are easy to set up. Pong raised concerns, which I pointed out were unwarranted.

Sites like redump allow users who independently dump games (wii discs, etc) to upload image checksums etcetera. If a lot of people vouch for the same checksum because they all dumped it with the same checksum, it's likely the dump is good.

Answer is probably somewhere. But, is it possible to transfer EVERYTHING to the EmuNand? Like, going online and whatnot. Is it possible to take screenshots with the EmuNand? I don't care about roms, but the EmuNand seems good to have.

I'm curious and didn't see it mentioned anywhere. Can you system transfer from a 3ds to emunand? and then back it up, then transfer it back and reload the emunand, hence having 2 copies of an eshop game?

They don't, "dude". The firmware isn't being modified. There's additional code run alongside everything else.

Its being patched on the fly allowing the EmuNAND to work just like the Normal GW Mode does, Smea's is more custom as he actually modded the firmware to add his name, and he uses a save exploit instead of a ds flashcart

They will more than likely add region free to classic mode as there is a need, and im pretty sure they confirmed that they where going to do that

As a new owner of the Gateway and a firmware 4.4, is there a good tutorial on how to get the Gateway to work for me?

Also, is there another way to update to 4.5 outside of an original game?
