Hardware 3DS dies after 4 hours

Excellent, they have a fantastic track record of not over-egging their new systems by, for example, showing pre-rendered footage and claiming it as in-game, so I will take everything they say at face value.
Well 4 hours and they only have 1 screen.
All the superhightechomgomgomgitsexactlylikeaps3inmypocket levels the field.

QUOTE(Hells Malice @ Feb 4 2011, 10:49 PM) Unless a game absolutely required 3D (and I really don't see how it would) I probably will never use it. 3D means nothing to me and if it just drains the batteries, well then it's staying off lol.
You do know just 3D alone isn't going to drain your batteries. It not like 3D off = infinite battery power.

It will definitely contribute to the saving power alot.
The designers of the 3DS said 3D required the use of 2 backlights rather than the normal 1, and backlighting was the most battery-exhaustive part of the 3DS aside from having 2 screens on at once.

Where the hell did you hear that?

Did they use the active backlight feature? 20% more battery life saved if they do.
And they should also play without 3D enabled and on the lowest brightness setting. I wonder how much we'll get out of it.
/ Oh... this was already mentioned in previous post.

I never use any of my handhelds on full brightness, anyway.

I use my DSi on 1/5, but will probably use a higher one for my 3DS.

4 hours isn't completely terrible. I'm just going to charge it every night, like my phone.

i've always played on lowest lighting, so i won't be too bothered. i heard that some manufacturers are releasing some sort of extra battery (actual batterys) pack device to clip on to it anyway.
