So, I saw this information on an irc chat one day, that apparently the leaked SDK's makerom has information on how to decrypt roms, or at least obtain the keys, and I decided to further it with some of my own rom dumps for testing purposes, as well. What this application does, is generates keys for the different rom partitions (romfs, exefs, and exheader). It's 100% legitimate.

Simply open your 3DS or 3DZ rom, and choose a key type, then press "Get Key!". It'll appear in the box below, and you can also choose to save the keys to a text file after you've generated them. It's stupidly simple.
As of now, the keys do not have any practical use, but it's a step closer to rom hacking on the 3DS.
What are you waiting for? Download it here: http://bit.ly/3DSKeyGen
(The bit.ly is for statistical purposes. It's only flagged because it has the words "key generator" in the original name. Rest assured, it's safe, you can even build the source below as proof in VS C# 2010.)

And for all the irredeemable fuckwits that think this is fake, here's the source: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34957059/3DS Rom Decryptor Key Generator source.zip

I'm also planning a v2, but I'm not sure on what direction I want to go with this in. I'm slowly plugging away at the update, but I don't expect to be able to finish and release it in lieu of recent events.

Right. If he is such respected then he shouldn't have an issue with providing sourcecode.

Sorry I'm not going to run some random .exe ... Show me the source code please.

I've made three appplications:

Macycle
3DS Music Extractor
Wii U Music Extractor

I may release the source code at some time, but it's a tad messy and I'd like to clean it up if a later revision is needed. However, you can download and decompile the exe if you wish using .net reflector. There's no obfuscation on the application.

Edit: Here's form1.cs: http://pastebin.com/WaiLQTxH

May I ask what you used to do that (Or PM me, that's cool too.)

No offense but

Yeah, my other applications are in a .zip. Someone probably falsely-reported the link. If you guys want proof, I can even upload the source code for you to compile in VS 2010, if you are dense enough to think that I'd actually try pulling a prank like that.

Edit: Should mention that the bit.ly link is actually for statistical purposes.

Edit 2: I think it's because it's mentioning a key generator, which is usually malicious. Perhaps I'll change the name and re-submit a link, or else wait, as I've contacted their support in regards to this matter.
