To answer.. It does work.. I use My sister's all the time when I dont feel like puting it in the cradles...

I've charged my DSi with the 3DS charger, and the 3DS with the DSi charger with no problems. I'm actually using a DSi charger for my 3DS cradle right now.

(The plug that goes into the 3DS got kinda crushed a while back. I unbent it all, and it still works, but it isn't very easy to plug and unplug. I figured the Cradle would be best, since it never gets unplugged.)
