implement doesn't just mean something like a spoon. just because you think they made a mistake does not mean they actually did.

What the hell are you talking about?

Duo8 When did I ever complain about not having ROM loading? We already have the little cards to do that, I'm talking about being able to modify the RAM for getting cheats running, and a ton of other things besides piracy. With Smea limiting us to usermode in this worthless new exploit, we won't be able to do everything we desired to have originaly (as an example: What the Wii can currently do). Go try starting arguments elsewhere.

Smeal did not create the exploit that has user mode access and intentionally limited us to user mode. It's a mistake in coding that Nintendo was responsible for and Smealum simply found it. It's not like he intentionally limited it. Don't like it? Well then find another exploit on your own then. :P

OK then it is bunk. Not surprising for a nintendo fansite. Well there is the proof you need that GBA emulation is possible atleast.

No that's what the article says, the DSi chip is just down clocked to GBA speeds which is not emulation. I do believe it would require a kernel level exploit to be done.

I'm just impressed he got an exploit working on 6.3 :D He even said it could theoretically work on 7.x firmware.
I would love to hear that it does work on the 7.x fw or that he found a 7.x exploit then ( hopeful/wishful thinking here ) gw3ds might be able to be able to run on 7.x fw

3DS has DSi CPU but does not have GBA one.

I very much doubt the 3DS has the same CPU as a DS model!

Also I doubt very much a video showing an SMEA symbol flashing does not mean that Gateway will be running on 6.1.0 or higher if this could of been done by now don't you think that the guys at Gateway would of cracked this already seen as they do this sort of thing 24/7 and did they not say in further comments that they tested it on 6.1.0 above but it did not run properly without serious issues? I don't know for sure about this so please don't jump down my throat.

My own guess gba is possible ambassador games run fine and maybe injecting or emulator is possible. Im not coder but somebody mentationed gba support is arm prosessors or something and only need libraries but thats just my guess

Why DS does not do that then? It uses ARM7TDMI CPU for GBA backcompat which 3DS does not have.

It has 3 cores. 2 ARM11: 1 for apps, 1 for OS. And ARM9 (as in DSi) for backcompat with DS, and some OS work.

Hmm psp default clk is 266 and overclocked 333 single core. Mybe they mentationed 3ds emulates gba but not perfect.

DSI Specs:-

  • CPU: The DSi has two ARM architecture CPUs: ARM9 clocked at 133 MHz and ARM7 clocked at 33 MHz.[97] Its ARM9 is twice as fast as previous models.[94][98]
  • RAM: 16 MB (four times as much as previous models)[76]
  • Screen resolution: 256 × 192 pixels (same as previous models)[99][100]
  • Cameras: 640 × 480 pixels[100]
  • Storage: 256 MB of internal flash memory[101] with an SD card (up to 2 GB) and SDHC card (up to 32 GB) expansion slot[102]
  • Battery: Shorter than the DS Lite, regardless of brightness setting;[83] for example, the DSi has a battery life of 9–14 hours on the lowest brightness setting, compared to the 15–19 hours of the DS Lite on the same setting.[77] The battery is an 840 mAh internal rechargeable, compared to 1000 mAh for the DS Lite,[83] and has an optimal lifespan of approximately 500 cycles; after this point, it may be replaced by the user.[81]
3DS Specs:-
The console utilizes custom components co-developed by Nintendo in conjunction with other manufacturers, all combined into a unified SOC. The main processor (CPU) is developed by ARM, and consists of a ARM11 MPCore-based dual-core processor manufactured at 45 nm. The graphics processor (GPU) is developed by Digital Media Professionals (DMP), and consists of a PICA200processor.[10][11] The system contains 128 MB of system memory consisting of two 64 MB (512 Mb)FCRAM chips developed by Fujitsu, with a maximum bandwidth of 3.2 GB/s, in which 32 MB are reserved for the operating system and unavailable to games. The system also contains 6 MB of VRAM. The console also includes two secondary custom processors that handle background tasks. These tasks are handled seamlessly in the background during gameplay or while the system is insleep mode. The console also contains a dedicated hardware audio DSP module capable of outputting mono, stereo or pseudo-surround sound through its two speakers and headphone jack.

I can clearly say they are not the same!

3DS is too underpowered for proper snes or gba emulation anyway.

GBA emulation can be just fine on 3DS since it can use virtualization because both GBA and 3DS use ARM architecture.
SNES emulation will probably be better than PSP one, and that's just fine for me.

Assuming that can done with the exploit (emulation and whatnot).
