Get 7zip, it's free. WinRAR is shitty shareware that pops up an annoying message every time you want to extract a file.

Actually, those files are from the Gateway ROM Splitter. As for rejoining the files I don't recall seeing a way to do that, but I'm sure someone here or on Maxconsole will be able to answer your question.

I think there is a software that does just that: Join together split 3d0-3d1 ROMs, although I don't remember what it was.
Let me look for it.

i don't think gateway uses a new consept, file splitter is first used bij snes copyboxes, and joint togather by sfctools for as far as i know, hj splitter is an overal splitter and joiner, it worked for snes, n64, iso's wii games and gc games, pretty sure it'll be what you need

Get a crack and WinRAR will never do any such thing. And if you're downloading 3DS games, I doubt you're adverse to cracking shareware. But in any event, it blows 7zip out the water.

I actually have full WinRAR and I just let it collect dust. I prefer 7zip all the way.
What do you like about that old, legacy, MS-DOS nostalgia grade (there along with ARJ) compressor with a paint job?

It's fast, and it extracts and compresses every format I ever need to use with it.

7-Zip also extracts almost every format, and regarding compression why using the closed RAR5 format when you can use the open LZMA to backup your files.
Anyway WinRAR is fast, I can't say anything against that.

Just do it in old plain CMD windows if you have windows 7/8/8.1 (or older, or when i learned it, good old DOS)

Code:
Echo off
cls
copy /b "%1" + "%2" joined.3ds
pause

- Put this in a batch file (join.bat, or whatever you like to have it named)
- place it in the folder with the .3d0 and .3d1 files
- run it as "join file.3d0 file.3d1" (without the quotes)
- Now you have a file called joined.3ds, rename it to your dumped title (for example) Pokemon X (E).3ds

That's it

7zip is way superior to WinRAR in features, look, and functionality.
