Gaming 2DS XL Error - Failed to apply 1 FIRM patch(es) HELP!!!

Hello All,

I recently updated my 2DS XL and got the message FAILED TO APPLY 1 FIRM PATCH(ES). I've tried EVERYTHING ELSE that has been posted in other forums, but have not had any success. Wondering if there is a way to start from scratch by deleting everything off the SD Card (at this point I just want my 2DS running again, I could care less about losing data.) I clearly have no idea what I'm doing, so a complete walkthrough of how to reset the SD card, the 2DS, and to install some sort of CIA Angel, FBI, or Homebrew would be so, very much appreciated, as I've spent many frustrating hours trying to remedy my currently bricked 2DS. PLEASE HELP!!

just update luma to 9.1 assuming you have luma installed
