Hacking 2DS Questions

We purchased a Red 2DS for my son. He had a DS Lite with a R4i card. Now we are looking on how to run 3ds games on his 2DS via card or whatever works.

What is the current options?

go to system settings on the 2ds and check the version number. if its 9.2+ you can't install 3ds games

Look in system settings, there should be a version number at the bottom-right of the top screen.

That isn't entirely true, though. If 9.2 or lower, they can install a CFW or get a GW, but if they are on 9.3 or higher, they can get a Sky3DS.

Could always buy a Cubic Ninja for homebrew or wait on the sky3ds+ to come out..

Swap it out if you can say it wont read the sd card correctly it seems you updated it to the latest firmware or someone updated and returned it.

Compared to how much money you would have to spend on actually buying every game, it's a bargain, really.

That's an understatement. The only options you have is either wait, get cubic ninja for homebrew purposes, which they are also robbing people on, or get the sky3ds+

Buying a Sky3ds to use it in a 2DS is no bargain, might as well just get another 2DS in ebay for like $60 and exploit it, that's what I did twice...

Buy another 2DS brand new and sell this one. As long as you don't get the Yokai Watch bundle you will be able to install almost any game you like at zero further cost. A Sky3DS will cost more than a new console.
