Hacking 2ds mario kart bundle

Hi! my friend ordred the 2ds mario kart bundle, but before i let him play i want to install a9lh on it. will mario kart be lost? if yes, is there anyway to keep it without updating to 11.0?
i will have to do a system format and possible update\downgrade to 9.2.0.

No, you won't lose any data, if you follow all the steps correctly, which are pretty easy to follow.
After you install a9LH, it doesn't matter if the 3DS is on 11.0.0.
There have never been any reports of a 2DS coming with 11.0.0 firmware either.
The System Format does not affect your data, as you would have dumped the emuNAND with all the data before it is formatted.

As an FYI, Mario Kart 7 is included as a download code, it's not actually downloaded onto the console. I know this because I still have my download code from when I bought my 2DS a month or two ago.

He has to link his NNID first, then use the download code to download and install MK7, all of which needs to be done on 11.0.

I personally never got around to setting up my nnid. I have a9lh installed with the latest nightly but can't find a tutorial for setting up my nnid now. If anyone can help let me know.

Go to System Settings and there should be a NNID button if your system version is up to date.

The NNID is only needed for free downloads, not for signing in. Any purchases made after setting a NNID up will be tied to your NNID.

Depends on the bundle. I recently bought a sea green 2DS and the game came preinstalled. The red/black and blue/black bundles I bought had download codes.

For my 2DS, Mario Kart is already downloaded on the console.

Also, my Sea Green Mario Kart 2DS came on 7.x. I bought it back in April.

I mean, I guess. Maybe? I've haven't played MK7 in forever. xD

@Barawer I'm not sure you can save it if it's on the console. I may be entirely wrong though. Once you get a CFW set up you can use freeShop or CIAngel to easily redownload it though.

Yes, but some 2DS bundles came with the game already installed on the console. I got the Red/Black 2DS so my bundle came with a DL code.

Right. as @KunoichiZ said, some may come with it installed. if it will come with a code i will obviously only use it after i finish
My problem was if it comes with the game preinstalled.

What problem? Just follow the guide and everything should be okay. Besides, if the system boots as if it was formatted and the game exist on the system as normal, maybe that game is somehow embedded into the system, it may be possible to redownload from Eshop no matter if it gets formatted or something..... Got to believe in that NINTENDO MAGIC OF INCREASED STABILITY AND ENHANCE USER EXPERIENCE.

Other than that, the game probably never gets deleted from the system during format which either means the ticket is always permenant on NAND and can always be redownloaded. Or the format option knows not to delete the mario kart game cause it would mean a loss for someone.
